Asus announced its M4A89GTD PRO Series mainboard for AMD’s Socket AM3 processors including Phenom II, Athlon II and Sempron 100 series. The board includes the Core Unlocker function the activates the latent AMD CPU cores for instant performance boost.
Based on AMD 890GX chipset, the M4A89GTD PRO has four DIMM memory slots for up to 16GB DDR3 2000 RAM and supports ATI CrossFire and Hybrid CrossFireX. It has a Ultra DMA IDE connector and six Serial ATA 6Gb/s connectors. Gigabit LAN and 8-channle HD audio are also included.
Two models will be released, the M4A89GTD PRO with 14 USB 2.0 ports and the M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 with 2 USB 3.0 and 12 USB 2.0.
