Sony announced the new Cyber-Shot DSC-TX5, the world’s thinnest and smallest waterproof digital camera. The ultra tough camera that is waterproof up to 10 feet of water for an hour and is also certified to be freeze proof down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit, shockproof up to about a 5-foot drop and dust proof.
The Sony TX5 features a 10.2 Megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor that lets you take high-quality photos in low light without a flash, BIONZ image processor, a 25mm wide angle 4x optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario Tessor lens, Optical SteadyShot image stabilization and a 3-inch Clear Photo Plus touchscreen display with touch operation. It also comes with 10fps continuous burst shooting, Smile Shutter, iAUTO mode, Sweep Panorama and 720p HD video recording functions.
This new Cyber-shot includes the in-camera multi-shot Backlight Correction High Dynamic Range (HDR) function, which combines highlight and shadow detail of two separate captures into one natural looking image. Memory Stick PRO Duo and SD/SDHC cards are supported. Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX5 will be available in April in silver, black, pink, green and red for $350.
