Sony launches the new BDP-S470 stand-alone Blu-ray 3D-ready player, joining Sony’s BDP-S770, BDP-S570 and BDP-S370 Blu-ray players. The player features Full HD 1080p output and supports playback of Blu-ray Disc, DVD, CD and even SACD discs.
The Sony BDP-S470 supports DVD upscaling to 1080p with Precision Cinema HD Upscaling and Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD Master Audio decoding. It is capable of BD-Live and includes access to the BRAVIA Internet Video platform for online internet streaming.
The BDP-S470 is Wireless LAN-ready and supports photo/music/video playback via USB and DLNA. It will be available in February for about $200. Sony BDP-S470 can be upgraded to play Blu-ray 3D content with a firmware update available this summer.
