Handheld Group announced the new Algiz 7 rugged mobile tablet PC. The device meets the MIL-STD-810G military standard for withstanding humidity, vibration, drops and extreme temperatures and is IP65 certified for water and dust resistant.
Boosted by Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor, the Algiz 7 gets 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 64GB solid state drive and integrated graphics. It comes with a 7-inch widescreen 1024×600 LCD MaxView sunlight readable resistive touchscreen display, a 2 megapixel camera with LED light and 4+1 Navigation/directional keys. The rugged tablet supports GPS, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFi and is ready for Gobu WWAN module for HSDPA/UMTS, Quad-band GSM/EDGE and quad-band EVDO mobile connectivity.
The Algiz 7 has dual hot-swappable battery packs with 2400mAh each offering at least 6 hours of use. It runs Windows 7 Professional. It will be shipped in March.
