Olympus announced two new ultra zoom digital camera, the 14 Megapixel SP-800UZ with 30x wide angle optical zoom, like FujiFilm’s HS10; and the 12 Megapixel SP-600UZ with 15x optical zoom.
Olympus’ two long zoom cameras are both equipped with the TruePic Image processor and features Intelligent Auto, Face Detection, Shadow Adjustment Technology which compensates for extreme contrast where the shadow areas are underexposed and lack visible detail, Beauty Mode and Magic Filter.
Both SP-800UZ and SP-600UZ are able to record 720p HD video and provide HDMI output. The former has a 3-inch LCD display and the latter has a 2.7-inch screen. They both support SD/SDHC cards. To be released in March, the SP-800UZ is priced at $349.99 while the SP-600UZ costs $249.99.
