Apple made its tablet device official and calls it iPad, which basically a larger version of iPhone or iPod touch. The iPad is powered by a custom-designed 1GHz Apple A4 low-power SoC and gets 16-64GB internal storage.
Apple’s iPad features a 9.7-inch IPS LCD display with LED-backlit, multitouch, 1024×768 resolution, and fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating and support for Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n connectivity. It is equipped with accelerometer and ambient light sensor. There are also built-in speakers, microphone, a 3.5mm audio jack and dock connector. There is also WiFi+3G model that supports tri-band UMTS/HSDPA and quad-band GSM/EDGE networks. The new Apple tablet runs the iPhone OS with enhanced version of Contact, Mail, iPod, iTunes apps and includes the iBooks app for users to browser, buy and read e-book, and is compatible with all existing iPhone apps. However, it still lacks multi-task.
The iPad has built-in 25Whr rechargeable lithium-polymer battery offers up to10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music. It is eco-friendly as it is PVC-free, BFR-free and has recyclable aluminum and glass enclosure, arsenic-free display glass and mercury-free LCD display.
