Dell announced the new Precision M6500, that claims to be the ‘world’s most powerful mobile workstation. The M6500, according to Dell, is the first mobile workstation to get Intel Core i7 and the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800M Graphics option.
The Precision M6500 is powered by either Core i7 or Core i7 Extreme Edition processors and a choice of 1GB ATI FirePro M7740, 1GB NVIDIA Quadro FX 2800M, or 1GB Quadro FX 3800M graphics cards. The workstation can be equipped with up to 16GB DDR3 RAM, up to three 500GB hard drive or 256GB SSD, DVD Burner and optional Blu-ray drive. It gets a 17-inch LED-backlit display.
Dell’s new workstation supports WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS as well as HSPA/EVDO 3G network. Other features iclude 8-in-1 card reader, built-in speakers, webcam, optional fingerprint scanner, optional smartcard reader, and optional Full HD screen. OS is Windows 7. Dell Precision M6500 starts at $2,749.
