OPPO Digital launches the BDP-83 Special Edition Blu-ray disc player, that is an upgrade based on the original BDP-83. This Speical Edition is equipped with an 8-channel Sabre Premier (ES9006) DAC chip for its 7.1 multi-channel output, and another 8-channel Sabre32 Ultra (ES9016) DAC chip for dedicated stereo output.
The OPPO BDP-83 Special Edition supports Blu-ray Profile 2.0 and has 1GB internal storage. Other than Blu-ray video discs and BD-R/RE, this Blu-ray player plays also DVD, AVCHD, Super Audio CD (SACD), CD, HDCD, Picture CD, CD-R/RW, DVD+/-R/RW/DL. The BDP83 can handle Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, and DTS-HD Master Audio. It offers HDMI output.
