Spring Design presents the Alex, which is another Android-based e-book reader with two screens, like B&N’s nook and the eDGe. The Alex has a 6-inch monochrome E-ink EPD (electronic paper display) screen for reading and a secondary 3.5-inch color LCD display for multimedia information and third party input.
Spring Design’s Alex supports WiFi as well as 3G, EVDO/CDMA and GSM mobile connectivity. Thanks to the Android OS, the device supports also media playback such as photos, video and video and users can enjoy these multimedia content using the 3.5-inch LCD display.
The Alex will be released by the end of this year and comes in White and Black, according to Spring Design.
