Bookseller Barnes & Noble officially introduces the nook, its wireless e-book reader with dual display, an e-ink display and a 3.5-inch color touchscreen for navigation. The nook is an Android-based e-book reader, like the eDGE dualbook and supports both WCDMA 3G and WiFi connectivity.
The nook is the first e-Book reader to provide, at no additional costs to customers, both 3G wireless access on AT&T’s mobile broadband network and access to Wi-Fi for Barnes & Noble in-store browsing and enjoyment.
B&N’s nook has 2GB internal memory and a microSD card slot. It supports EPUB, eReader, PDF e-book formats and comes with built-in MP3 player for playback of audio book and MP3 files. It gets built-in mono speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The book will be available in late-November for $259.
