Gateway announced the new “Thin-and-Light” EC series notebook PCs, including the 15.6-inch EC58 and EC54 and the 11.6-inch EC14. All of them are based on Intel’s CULV processors and all get Windows 7 OS.
The Gateway EC58 and EC54 are powered by Core 2 Duo and Pentium Dual Core processor. They have a 15.6-inch LED-backlit display with 1366×768 resolution and support WiFi 802.11b/n. Their 6-cell Li-ion battery offers up to eight hours of use.
The Gateway EC14 (model EC1430u) is boosted by a Pentium Dual Core SU4100 1.3GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, GMA 4500MHD graphics and a 320GB hard drive. It gets a 11.6-inch 1366×768 LED-backlit display.
All three EC series notebooks have HDMI port and a multi-gesture touchpad. They will be available on 22 October.
