A company called enTourage Systems introduces the eDGe, the world’s first dualbook, that basically combines an e-book reader with a netbook/MID. The eDGe is a dual screen device. On the left hand side, you can find a 9.7-inch e-ink 1200×825 display that is Wacom Penabled and on the right-hand side, you will see a 10.1-inch 1024×600 touchscreen display.
Obviously, the e-ink display is for reading e-books and ePub and PDF formats are supported. The color touchscreen, on the other hand, is for Google Android OS. The eDGe has 4GB internal memory that is enough for up to 3000 e-books. It supports WiFi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth connectivity and optional EVDO or HSDPA 3G can be equipped.
enTourage eDGe is able to handle MP3, MP4, 3GP media playback and provides a 3.5mm headphone jack. It has a SD card slot and two USB ports for expansion. A stylus is include for use on e-paper display and touchscreen.
enTourage eDGe is priced at $490 for Midnight Blue version. You can get Ruby Red, Glacier White and Ice Blue versions for $40 extra. It will be shipped in February 2010.
