Sony presents the NW-A840 series portable media player, that measures just 7.2mm thick making it the thinnest Walkman player ever. The Walkman NW-A840 series features a 2.8-inch 240×400 OLED display, S-Master digital noise cancellation technology, and Digital Sound Enhancement Engine.
The A840 supports MP3, WMA, ATRAC, ATRAC Advanced Lossless, AAC, PCM audio files, MPEG-4 AVC H.264, WMV video files and JPEG image files. It has built-in FM tuner. The player has the WM-PORT so it is compatible with Sony’s Walkman dock products. A pair MDR-EX300SL earphones is included.
Sony’s thinnest Walkman is available in 16GB (NW-A845), 32GB (NW-A846) and 64GB (NW-A847) models in Black and Copper colors. They will be available in 31 October for 24,000 Yen, 30,000 Yen and 40,000 Yen respectively. Sony will also offer the limited edition NW-A847/V that comes in Purple.
