Sherwood introduces the R-904N NetBoxx, a 7.1-channel AV receiver that looks more like a settop box. Other than AV receiver, the NetBoxx also serves as an internet media streamer. It offers seven 100 Watt RMS amplifier channels.

Sherwood’s new device is equipped with two 32-bit digital signal processors for audio, the DA787 and D788, for handling the multichannel HD audio decoding and advanced post processing; and a TMS320DM6446 digital media processor based on DaVinci technology. It supports Dolby TruHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS 96/24, Neo 6 Cinema and Music, Dolby Digital and Dolby ProLogic IIx, as well as virtually all popular audio and video codecs.

The R-904N NetBoxx is able to CinemaNow, YouTube, various TV channels, SHOUTcast audio “Internet radio” stations as well as personal media and content from Hulu, Netflix, CBS, CNN, ESPN, Rhapsody and Amazon Video On Demand through the home network from a connected PC or NAS device, thanks to its support for PlayOne.

Sherwood R-904N NetBoxx has seven 100 Watt RMS amplifier channels and it offers three HDMI 1.3 connectors.
