Previously, Buffalo has offered 32GB and 64GB SSD expansion for Eee PC 901-X. Both of the add-ons are MLC-based which is slower and less reliable than SLC SSD. This time Buffalo introduces a SLC-based SSD expansion with 16GB capacity for Eee PC 901-X.
After replace the original SSD with Buffalo’s SLC SSD, the write speed has improved from 14.5MB/s to 22.4MB/s whereas read speed from 30.7MB/s to 33MB/s. It will be available in Mid-October for 28,000 Yen.
