Sony Ericsson announced the new P1 smartphone, the fifth generation of the P-series. One of the main features of the handset is its dual-function keypad that serves as both a number pad and a QWERTY keyboard for easy and flexible text input. The phone also gets a 2.6-inch touchscreen with Transflective Display for easy viewing in bright conditions.
The P1 sports a 3.2 Megapixel auto focus camera with 3x zoom, and the camera can be used as business card scanner.. It supports Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity In addition to 160MB of internal memory, the phone also supports Memory Stick Micro (M2) memory card.
Running Symbian OS v9.1 with UIQ 3.0, the P1 is also your portable media hub. The media player supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, e-AAC+ music and H.264 videos, and there are built-in FM radio and mobile TV support. Also pre-loaded is software suite for reading and editing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel files. The phone supports tri-band GSM and UMTS 2100MHz 3G mobile networks.
