Toshiba brings three new HD DVD players, the HD-A20, HD-A2, HD-XA2. All of them support playback HD DVD and DVD, CD discs, and are able to handle HD audio formats, including Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD.
All of the three model can connect to HDTVs via the HDMI interface. While Toshiba HD-A2 can output content in 720p or 1080i, the HD-A20 and HD-XA2 can output not only in 720p or 1080i but also 1920x1080p Full HD resolution. The XA2 also includes Deep Color output through HDMI, and a 297MHz / 12 bit Video DAC with high-quality, 4x oversampling for increased bandwidth for true playback of an HD picture to a video source.
Toshiba’s new players all have a slim chassis and black high gloss finish. The HD-A2 and HD-XA2 are available now for $499.99 and $999.99, respectively, while the HD-A20 will be available in Spring this year for $599.99.
