Canon presents its DC50 DVD Camcorder that uses 3-inch DVD as storage media. The camcorder sports a 5.39 Megapixel CCD image sensor with an RGB Primary Color Filter to capture videos and still images with vibrant colors; and features Super Range Optical Image Stabilization to compensate for camera shakes. It features a Canon 10x optical zoom lens and supports 200x digital zoom. DIGIC DV II image engine is equipped to deliver accurate color reproduction and reduced noise in low-light conditions.
As a DVD camcorder, the DC50 does direct-to-DVD video recording and each 3-inch DVD disc can store up to 60 minutes of video. Dual-layer DVD discs are supported. The camcorder includes Aperture Priority (AV) Shutter Priority (TV) modes as well as Special Scene Modes such as Portrait, Sports, Night and Image Effects. MiniSD memory card can be used for storing still images.
The Canon DC50 will hit the store in February and the price is $799.
