Leica has announced a new compact digital camera that comes in the name of X Vario. With an iconic, classic Leica design, the camera has a aluminum and magnesium body with soft leather trim. It is equipped with a 16.5 Megapixel APS-C CMOS image sensor and a Vario-Elmar 18-46 mm f/3.5-6.4 ASPH lens (28-70 mm in 35 mm format). Since it is now a mirrorless, the lens is not interchangeable.
The X Vario ofers an ISO sensitivity range of 100 – 12,500 and uses contrast-based auto focus system. It is capable of up to 5fps contious shooting, and Full HD 1920×1080/30p video recording. P/A/S/M exposure modes are provided for flexible shooting experience. THe camera has a 3-inch LCD display and HDMI output. SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards are supported.
