Bose introduces its first in-ear noise-cancelling headphones, the QuietComfort 20 (QC20) designed to deliver audio performance you can expect from Bose technologies. Along with StayHear+ tips that physically block some of the noise, the headphones come with Acoustic Noise Cancelling technology to electronically reduces most of what’s left. The tips also provide soft, secure fit and long-lasting comfort.
Two tiny microphones are placed in each earbuds – one senses the sound approaching, the other measures the sound inside; and the digital electronic chip located in the control module found on the headphone cord will use the measurements to calculates an equal and opposite noise cancellation signal within a fraction of a millisecond, delivering the best noise-cancelling performance. The headphones also includes Bose’s TriPort technology to increase the effective acoustic space for deep lows and lifelike vocals.
For easy control, the headphones gets an in-line control panel with slider switch for turning noise-cancelling on or off and built-in li-ion battery that can provide up to 16 hours of noise-cancelling, and an in-line remote/microphone for answer calls. There are 2-button model for Android, Blackberry and Windows phones, and the 4-button QC20i model for use with iPhone, iPod and iPad with music controls.
The in-ear QuietComfort 20 headphones is priced at $299.95.
