Other World Computing (OWC) has just announced the launch of its Envoy Pro EX ultra-portable solid state drives. The beautifully designed storage device features an anodized aluminum enclosure and features a rugged sleek and compact design that fits easily into a coat pocket, pocket or briefcase. Inside, you can find a OWC Aura Pro 6G SSD and SanForce controller for high-speed performance.
The Aura SSD is based on Tier-1 Synchronous NAND flash memory and features DuraWrite Technology for enhanced ensurance and efficient Block Management and Wear Leveling for highest reliability. Using USB 3.0 interface, the portable drive provides up to 436MB/s read and 429MB/s write speeds. It is USB-powered, meaning no addition power cord is needed.
The Envoy Pro EX works with Windows, Mac and Linux. It comes with a double-shielded USB 3.0 standard A to Micro-B connecting cable. The price is $319.99 for 240GB and $599.99 for 480GB.
