Following the launch of NX1100 in early April, Samsung adds another model to its NX line of mirrorless cameras, the NX2000. The most eye-catching feature of this stylish SMART Camera is probably its 3.7-inch WVGA full touch display for intuitive control. Most physical buttons are removed to give room to the large display though. The built-in support for WiFi and NFC make sharing easier.
Samsung’s new NX2000 sports the same 20.3 Megapixel APS-C CMOS image sensor found on the NX1000 and NX1100; and the DRIMe IV engine to reduce noise, reproduce accurate color and improve speed, delivering high quality images. The mirrorless shooter offers a wide 100 – 25,600 ISO range and up to 1/4000th shutter speed. It is capable of 8fps fast continuous shooting as well. Full HD 1920x1080p videos are recored in AVC/H.264 format at 30fps and 3D Video. 3D Still and Movie Recording capabilities are also included, and there are some smart modes such as Beauty face, Action freeze, panorama. The camera is compatible with 12 NX lenses and the i-Function system allows users to control settings such as aperture, shutter speed, with the lens.
With WiFi and NFC and Samsung’s SMART Camera 2.0 technology, sharing images and videos are made easy. Using the Samsung SMART CAMERA app, you can share images with Android and iOS devices wirelessly, and NFC allows users to pair the camera with NFC-enabled Android devices with a simple tap. Once connected, AutoShare can send photos directly from the camera to a smartphone or tablet via a direct WiFi connection, and the Direct Link allows users to share photos to social networking sites. Photos and videos can be streamed to compatible devices via Samsung Link and WiFi Direct. You may even use your smartphone or tablet as remote viewfinder of the camera.
The NX2000 is available in White, Black and Pink. The price will be $649.99 and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 software is bundled.
