D-Link introduces a compact HD PoE fixed network camera, the DCS-3010 that provides high-resolution video and PoE support for small business and residential applications. As a self-sufficient surveillance solution, the entry-level IP camera is capable of recording snapshots and videos to a microSD card without the need for a PC or network storage.
The DCS-3010 sports a 1/4-inch megapixel progressive scan CMOS sensor, and a 4.0mm F1.5 fixed lens. Videos are recorded in up to 1280x720p HD resolution using H.264, MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG compression. It supports multicast H.264 and MPEG-4 streaming and offers ePTZ capabilities to zoom in/out and pan for surveying a large area easily, and motion detection.
The camera’s 10/100 Fast Ethernet port supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) for easy deployment in a variety of locations. You an also find built-in microphone and audio in/out for 2-way audio. D-ViewCam management software is included for camera management. Available in May, the DCS-3010 is priced at $269.99.
