Unveiled at the CES 2013 in January, Sony’s BRAVIA XBR-55X900A and XBR-65X900A LED Ultra HD TVs are now available for order. Joining the huge 84-inch XBR-84X900, the XBR-55X900A and XBR-65X900A are smaller with 55-inch and 65-inch screen sizes, respectively. The former is priced at $4,999 and the latter costs $6,999.
Sony’s new UHD TVs both feature 3840×2160 4K resolution, which is four time the resolution of Full HD 1080p. They are equipped with two-chip 4K X-Reality PRO picture engine to enhance all content, including old movies and smartphone video clips, to the highest resolution possible. Dynamic edge-lit, LED backlighting is used to improve contrast and deliver blacker blacks, while the TRILUMINOS Display technology is included to produce natural and accurate colors, including difficult blues, reds, and greens. There is also Motionflow XR 960 technology for smooth images and motions. They support Full HD 3D and passive 3D glasses as well.
Complementing the Ultra HD pictures is high quality sound. Both 4K BRAVIAs sport Sony’s front-facing Magnetic Fluid Speaker system with 65-watt of power, and feature S-Force Front Surround 3D to simulate 5.1 sound for enhanced enjoyment. With built-in WiFi connectivity, the 4K TVs offers access to online content and services, including full Sony Entertainment Network suite of services as well as Netflix, Pandora, YouTube, Facebook…etc.
You can pre-order Sony’s XBR-55X900A and XBR-65X900A 4K TVs starting from 21 April.
