Accessory maker Satechi brings a new product for Canon and Nikon DSLR owners. Called Bluetooth Smart Trigger, the device works with the free Smart Trigger app to turn user’s iPhone or iPad into a fully-functional wireless timer remote control for DSLR cameras. The compact Trigger makes group photo shooting and light painting easier.
Satechi’s small, lightweight Smart Trigger uses Bluetooth 4.0 technology with a 50 feet range, and it attaches to DSLR’s hot shoe. It provides three shooting modes – the Regular Shot mode allows you to use an iPhone/iPad as wireless shutter; the Manual Shot mode allows you to take long exposures with a switch to lock the shutter open; and the Timed Shot mode that will turn iPhone/iPad into an intervalometer to perform time-lapse shooting.
The Bluetooth Smart Trigger is available in three models, both model A and C work with Canon EOS DSLRs (and some PowerShot models and Pentax SLRs) and the model B is compatible with Nikon DSLRs. They are priced at $44.99.
