Archos introduces its new Platinum range of quad-core Android tablets. The new 8-inch, 9.7-inch and 11.6-inch tablets all have IPS touchscreen with a wide viewing angle and accurate color reproduction. Inside their sleek aluminum housing, you can find a quad-core 1.2Ghz processor with PowerVR SGX 544 8-core GPU and 2GB of RAM. They run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
The 80 Platinum, the smallest in the range, has a 8-inch 1024×768 IPS screen. It is priced at just $199. The 97 Platinum HD has the highest-resolution screen, getting a 2048×1536 display that is comparable to iPad’s Retina Display. It costs just $299, that is 40% less than a Retina iPad. The biggest and most expensive model, 116 Platinum, features a 11.6-inch 1920×1080 Full HD display. It is priced at $349.
All three quad-core Platinum tablets have a 2 Megapixel main camera and a front-facing camera, WiFi connectivity, mini HDMI output, 8GB internal flash memory and a microSD card slot.
