Here are three new compact digital cameras from Nikon, the CoolPix S5200 and CoolPix L28 and L27 that are replacing the S5100 and L26. All three models have a compact design and will be available in multiple colors. The S5200 has a slim, pocketable body and the more affordable L28 and L27 have a slightly rounded grip that is easier to hold for more steady shooting.
The CoolPix S5200 is equipped with a 16 Megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and a NIKKOR Glass lens with 6x optical zoom. It includes lens-shift vibration reduction to reduce effect of camera shake, Motion Detection for motion blur reduction and a 125-3200 ISO range for delivering sharp, clear, crisp photos. The camera supports WIFi connectivity that can be used for sharing photos and videos with smartphones or tablets wirelessly using the Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility application. It supports 1080p video recording and features a 3-inch LCD monitor.
The 20.1 Megapixel Coolpix L28 and 16.1 Megapixel L27 both sport 5x optical zoom lens. They have electronic vibration reduction and motion detection and supports 720p HD video shooting. Both cameras are powered by widely available AA-size batteries. With a metallic body, the L28 is available in red, black, silver and pink (not available in the US), and the L27 in black, silver, red, white, and decorative purple.
Both cameras include Scene modes and Smart Portrait System for users to shoot perfect portrait photos. The S5200 also feature the Glamour Retouch function that lets the user brighten faces using a variety of retouch effects
The Nikon S5200 will be available for $179.95 in plum, red, blue and black, and the L28 is priced at $119.95. It seems Nikon is not going to release the L27 in the US market.
