Plantronics introduces the Blacktop 500, a Bluetooth headset for commercial drivers and truckers. “Specifically designed to keep commercial drivers’ eyes on the road and hands on the wheel”, the headset cancels road noise, stays comfortable all day and lets drivers manage calls without taking eyes off the road.
The BlackTop 500 sports a wind and noise cancelling microphone that cancels road and engine noise, and powerful speakers to deliver clear audio. Its flexible, adjustable reinforced headband with a cushioned earpiece makes it comfortable to wear all day. The Smart Sensor technology allows users to direct calls and media from phone to headset and answer calls simply by putting the headset on. It also comes with a clip-on Bluetooth controller for answering calls, adjusting volume and muting the mic.
Plantronics’s driver headset uses Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP for wireless connection with mobile phones and supports Multipoint to connect to two devices at the time time. It comes with an in-vehicle power charger so drivers can have unlimited talk time while driving. The Blacktop 500 is available for $129.99.
