Nikon expands its CoolPix line with two new slim super zoom models, the S9500 and the S9400. With a sleek and compact body that is small enough slip into a shirt pocket, the two new cameras look almost identical and share many of their features. Other than providing a long zoom range, both cameras supports WiFi connectivity for transfering photos and videos wirelessly to a smartphones and tablets equipped with the Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility application.
The S9500 and S9400 both come equipped with 18.1 Megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and EXPEED C2 image processing engine to deliver high quality images and videso. The former gets a 22x optical zoom 25mm wide angle NIKKOR lens and the latter offers 18x optical zoom range. To provide blur-free clear images and movies, these slim shooters feature lens-shift and electronic vibration reduction (VR) for stills and lens-shift VR for movies, and Motion Detection for motion blur reduction when taking photos. They offer ISO 125-3200, Scene modes and in-camera image editing, including an upgraded Glamour Retouch.
The compact high-zoom Coolpix duo support up to 7.5fps high-speed continous shooting at resolution. They can record Full HD 1920×1080 video at 30fps with stereo sound and offers HDMI output. There is a 3-inch OLED display for previewing and reviewing images. The S9500 also includes built-in GPS chip to record location data for each photo.
The Nikon CoolPix S9500 will be available for $349.95 in black, silver and red, and the S9400 for $299.95 in black, white and red.
