Intel introduces its new SSD DC S3700 series of solid state drives for data center applications such as Big Data, Cloud, HPC. Intel’s new SSD is built to delivers fast, consistent performance and low latencies along with strong data protection and high endurance.
The S3700 series offers a 4KB random read performance of up to 75,000 IOPS and 4KB write performance of up to 36,000 IOPS, and transfer rates of 500MB/s read and 460MB/s write. Available in 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch form factor, the data center SSD uses SATA 6Gbps interface. Using Intel’s High Endurance Technology, the S3700 offers single-level cell SSD-like endurance in more cost-effective multi-level cell (MLC) flash, achieving 10 full drive writes per day over the 5-year life of the drive.
The 2.5-inch S3700 comes in 100GB, 200GB, 400GB and 800GB models, which are priced at $235, $470, $940 and 1880, respectively. The 1.8-inch 200GB and 400GB models cost $495 and $965, respectively.
