Cricket Wireless launches the Huawei Boltz USB 4G LTE modem in the company’s 4G LTE market in Las Vegas and Tucson. The lightweight, sleek modem has a hinge that pivots to any USB 2.0 configuration, and comes pre-loaded with installation software for quick and easy setup. Based on Qualcomm’s MDM9600, the Boltz supports Cricket’s 4G LTE network as well as 1900/AWS CDMA 1x and EVDO Rev A 3G networks, supporting up to 6Mbps downlink and 3Mbps uplink speeds.
The Huawei Boltz also serves as a memory card reader supporting microSD/SDHC up to 32GB, and includes aGPS capability. The modem works with Windows XP/Vista/7 and Mac OS X 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7. It is available for $149.99 at Cricket’s company-owned stores and dealers in Las Vegas and Tucson.
