GoPro introduces its new HERO3 line of action cameras, including the White, Silver and Black models. About 30% smaller and 25% lighter than its predecessor, the HERO3 cameras sports built-in WiFi connectivity. The professional-grade Black Edition is capable of 4K video recording at 15fps and 2.7K at 30fps. Of course, you also also capture video at lower resolutions – 1440p@48fps, 1080p@60fps, 960p @100fps and 720p@120fps. It also shoots 12 Megapixel still images with 30fps burst.
The HERO3 Silver, on the other hand, is a prosumer-grade action camera with 11 Megapixel sensor, while the consumer-level HERO3 White packs 5 Megapixel sensor. Both of them record 1080p Full HD video at 30fps. With built-in WiFi, you can use the free GoPro app for remote control and live video preview on your smartphones or tablet. The Black model will come with the wearable waterproof WiFi Remote that can contrl up to 50 Wi-Fi-enabled GoPros at a time from a range of 600.
All three HERO3 models come with 60m Waterproof Housing, Quick Release Mount, a curved adhesive mount and a flat adhesive mount. The Silver and Black versions will also get a 3-way pivot. GoPro will also release the HERO3 Black Edition-Surf that comes with a surfboad mount instead of curved and flat adhesive mounts. The White, Silver and Black editions are priced at $199.99, $299.99 and $399.99 respectively.
