Casio announced its third generation of High-speed EXILIM digital camera, the EX-ZR1000 flagship with improved comfort and new GUI, hardware and functions. The new camera is powered by Casio’s EXILIM Engine HS 3 with a newly developed system to deliver high-speed shooting capability, including including 0.99-second start-up time, 0.15-second high-speed auto focus, and as little as 0.26-second shooting between frames. It is capable of 6fps high-speed continuous shooting.
Casio EX-ZR1000 features a 16.79 Megapixel CMOS image sensor and a 24mm wide-angle 12.5x optical zoom lens with Multi-frame SR Zoom the extends the zoom range to 25x. The camera comes with a function ring mounted around the lens, which can be used to adjust zoom range, exposure value (EV), shutter speed, manual focus, and white balance. Its 3-inch LCD display can tilt up to 180 degrees, helping users to shoot photos from various angles as well as take self portraits.
The new High-Speed EXILIM includes the All-in-Focus Macro, which selects only in-focus areas from continuously shot images at different focus settings to produce a composite image with every area coming out in focus; Blurred Background to create soft blur effect in background scene, HS Night Shot for capturing beautiful photos with minimal blur in low-light conditions thanks to maximum ISO 25,600; HDR-ART function that combines continuous shots with differing exposures while performing advanced analysis to locally change the intensity of contrast and color saturation, as well as Premium AUTO PRO that automatically analyzes the shooting scene to choose the best settings and perform image processing.
You can also find slide panorama and the Wide Shot function, which combines continuous shots taken with high-speed continuous shooting when the user is moving the camera to create a super-wide-angle (equivalent to 14 mm or 18 mm) shots. The EX-ZR1000 offers manual shooting and supports RAW image shooting. It is capable of Full HD 1080/30p video recording as well.
