Canon introduces the new PowerShot S110 featured-packed compact digital camera to replace the successful PowerShot S100. As an update, the new S110 model adds built-in WiFi connectivity and a touchscreen display. It sports a 12.1 Megapixel high-sensitivity CMOS image sensor and a 24mm wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens. The shooter also packs DIGIC 5 image engine and Canon HS SYSTEM for enhanced image quality in low-light conditions.
The PowerShot S110 comes with built-in WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity that allows you to wirelessly upload images to social network via Canon iMAGE GATEWAY, to iOS or Android smartphones or tablets with the free Canon CameraWindow app, or to a PC. The app can also add GPS data on your smartphone to images in S110. With WiFi, you can also share images between WiFi-enabled PowerShot cameras wirelessly and print images on a WiFi printer. Canon also adds a 3-inch capacitive touch PureColor System LCD display for intuitive operation and Touch Shutter. The PowerShot is capable of 1080p Full HD video recording with stereo sound, a dedicated movie button and support for optical zoom during shooting. It has HDMI output for you to share your work with friends or family on a bigger screen HDTV.
Canon’s new S110 features high-speed AF, Intelligent IS automatically chooses from six different modes to optimize image stabilization for the shooting condition, High-speed Burst HQ mode for 10fps continuous shooting, Smart Auto mode with 58 scenes and 12-bit multi aspect RAW+JPEG shooting. Like its predecessor, the S110 has a control ring at the base of the lens barrel, which can be assigned of camera settings such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focus…etc.
Canon will release the PowerShot S110 in black and white colors in October for $449.99. The camera maker also offers the WP-DC47 S110 waterproof case for diving and underwater enthusiasts.
