Sony announced the new X Headphones in collaboration with Syco Entertainment, a global joint venture between Simon Cowell, judge on The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and American Idol and Sony Music Entertainment. Based on Sony’s MDR-X10, the X Headphones is created to deliver audio performance matching Cowell’s high level of excellence for finding the right sound and style.
The X sports 50mm neodymium magnets sound drivers to deliver rich, full-range audio experience and features pressure-relieving memory foam ear pads that conform each listener’s unique ear shape, providing a effective acoustic seal, and a Direct-Vibe sealed acoustic structure to deliver high level of sound isolation and reproduction of extended bass The headphones also come with aluminum headbands.
The headphones’ dual-folding design allows users to swivel the earpads for listening flexibility or fold the headphones for portability. It comes with a detachable cord with a serrated finish that reduces tangles, and in-line remote with volume and track controls and microphone for use with iPhone, iPad and iPod. A compact carrying case is include to keep the X Headphones in place.
The new X headphones will be showcased at the star-studded premiere event of THE X FACTOR in Los Angeles on September 11. It is priced at $299.
