Patriot Memory introduces the Gauntlet Node, a personal storage enclosure with wireless connectivity. Originally announced as Gauntlet WiFi, the device is a USB 3.0-enabled hard drive enclosure for any new or used 2.5-inch hard drive or SSDs. It supports SATA hard drive/SSD. Other than connect directly with a PC using USB 3.0 interface, the Gauntlet Node can also transfer files wirelessly, thanks to built-in WiFi connectivity.
Using the Gauntlet Connect app, available through Google Play, Amazon App Store, and iTunes App Store, the Node can also share or transfer files to up to 8 connected devices at the same time. You can store your music, photos and videos on the Gauntlet Node drive and then stream to your mobile devices wirelessly. The enclosure supports WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, WPA security and delivers up to 150Mbps transfer rate.
The Gauntlet Node comes with built-in lithium-ion polymer battery for up to 5 hours of continuous data transfer/streaming. The Patriot Memory’s WiFi Gauntlet Node wireless hard drive enclosure is priced at $99.99.
