Bang & Olufsen (B&O) introduces the Playmaker, a wireless audio bridge designed to wireleessly connect digital music source to any B&O speakers. Simply connect the Playmaker to any set of Bang & Olufsen active loudspeakers, you can then play music wirelessly from any smartphone tablet, Mac/PC or media server. The device supports DLNA and AirPlay technologies. Volume and mute can be controlled either by the audio source, by the Bang & Olufsen remote, or on Playmaker itself.
According to B&O, the Playmaker is equipped with high performance Digital Audio Converter, which is able to drive BeoLab 5, to deliver a “true Bang & Olufsen listening experience.” The wireless bridge connects to a wireless network in seconds. You can use the Bang & Olufsen BeoSetup App for easy setup or simply press the WPS connection button. Other than WiFI 802.11b/g, the Playmaker also has Ethernet port. It has a line-in jack and two loudspeaker output. Table stand and cable cover are included.
Bang & Olufsen will release the Playmaker at the end of July for $425. It can be bundled with BeoLab 3 loudspeaker for $4310.
