Sony introduces the world’s first medical-grade monitor based on Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) technology – the 25.4-inch PVM-2551MD. The slim monitor is UL 60601-1 listed, complies with CSA 22.2 No.60601 and EN 60601-1 safety regulations, and receives FDA 510(k) clearance, making it suitable for use in professional medical applications such as flexible and rigid endoscopy and surgical microscopy. Its lightweight white casing fits the requirements of a medical environment as well.
The PVM-2551MD utilizes Sony’s Super Top Emission OLED technology and delivers Full HD 1920×1080 resolution with 10-bit signal processing for accurate color management. It also features the TRIMASTER EL technology to deliver enhanced image performance, a wide color scale and pure black. With high resolution, exact color reproduction, and high level of contrast, the monitor helps medical personnel to arrive at swifter and more accurate diagnoses. It has various image scan modes, such as Normal/Over scan, Under scan, Full, Zoom and Native. Other features include noiuse filter, variety of gamma settings – 1.8, 2.0, 2.2, 2.4, 2.6, and DICOM GSF, 20 memory presets for saving color and gamma settings, and VESA-mounting support.
The Sony PVM-2551MD is liquid resistant and can be easily wiped clean of liquids and gels for hygiene and safety. Using OLED technology, the medical display has a reduced power consumption. It is available now.
