Nintendo will release in 19 August the 3DS XL (known as 3DS LL in Japan) dual-screen handheld gaming device. While the original 3DS gets a 3.53-inch glasses-free 3D top screen and 3.02-inch touchscreen, the XL has a 4.88-inch top screen that offers 90% larger viewing area and a 4.18-inch bottom screen. It comes with a 4GB SD card.
Other features are same as the original 3DS, including a 0.3 Megapixel inner camera, two 0.3 Megapixel outer camera for 3D image shooting, and WiFi connectivity. It also packs a bigger battery for longer gaming time. Nintendo will release the 3DS XL on 19 August in the US for $199.99 in red or blue.
