D-Link introduces its new Cloud Router 1200 (DIR-636L, aka Cloud Gigabit Router N300) and Cloud Router 2000 (DIR-826L, aka Cloud Gigabit Router N600) wireless routers with support for remote management and SharePort. Both models support WiFi 802.11b/g/n, and the former provides up to 300Mbps wireless speed while the latter comes with dual-band WiFi support and delivers up to 600Mbps wireless speed. Unlike most routers that come in rectangular shape, both Cloud Routers have tube shape.
With a USB SharePort, the Cloud Routers brings your USB storage devices to the network. Simply connect a USB drive to the USB port on the Cloud Router, you can then use the free D-Link SharePort Mobile application on your iPad/iPhone or Android devices to access and stream content on the drive wirelessly. Using the free mydlink Lite app, you can do remote management on your mobile devices.
The DIR-636L and DIR-826L have 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports and support WPA/WPA2 security and Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). They come with a built-in dual-active firewall (SPI and NAT) to ensure that data sent wirelessly is secure, and built-in high-powered amplifier for extended coverage. The Cloud Router 2000 supports dual-band WiFi, meaning you can get maximum performance by streaming HD movies and other media over the 5GHz band while simultaneously browsing the Internet and checking your email using the 2.4GHz band.
D-Link’s Cloud Router 1200 and Cloud Router 2000 are priced at $59.99 and $99.99, respectively.
