Along with the Xperia go, Sony also brings the Xperia acro S that meets the IP55 and IP57 Ratings for dust and water resistance. The acro S is in fact the international version of the company’s Xperia acro HD SO-03D, which has been the best selling smartphone in Japan since its launch in March. The phone sports a 4.3-inch 1280×720 HD touchscreen powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine for sharp images and protected by scratch-resistant ineral glass, a 12 Megapixel camera with Exmor R for mobile sensor and LED flash and a 720p HD front-facing camera for video chat. It is capable of Full HD 1080p video recording.
Compare to the Xperia go, the acro S is more powerful, getting a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Dual Core processor and 1GB of RAM to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Other than the standard Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS, WiFi connectivity, the handset adds NFC, DLNA support for media streaming, HDMI output and GLONASS support. You can add up to 32GB microSD, in case its 16GB internal storage is not enough. The ICS device supports quad-band HSPA+ and quad-band GSM/EDGE networks.
Coming in Q3, the Xperia acro S will be available in black, white and pink.
