Sony is launching in European market its Ultrabook debut, the VAIO T series with chassis made in aluminium and magnesium. The lightweight and slim VAIO Ultrabook comes in 11-inch T11 and 13-inch T13 models, measuring just 323mm in thickness. The new Ultrabooks will be powered by up to Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3-2367M ultra low voltage processor (probably will get Ivy Bridge processor in future models), integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics and up to 4GB of RAM.
The VAIO T can be configured with up to 512GB SSD or 500GB hybrid HDD/SSD (up to 500GB HDD+32GB SSD) for faster data access. Both 11-inch and 13-inch models get 1366×768 resolution display. They come with built-in 1.3 Megapixel Exmor for PC HD webcam, a SD/MMC memory card slot and xLOUDTM and Clear Phase sound enhancements. As for connectivity, you can find WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, a USB 3.0 port for USB charge function, and HDMI output.
Thanks to Rapid Wake + Eco, the VAIO T are up and ready in moments. According to Sony, the SSD model can provide up to 9 hours of battery life. The VAIO T11 and T13 are available in UK starting at GBP629. The pre-configured model SVT1311M1E packs 4GB RAM, 320GB hard drive with 32GB SSD.
