In addition to the bigger-sized SLT-A37, Sony also expands the Alpha NEX line with the new NEX-F3 mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. The new compact E-mount camera is equipped with a 16.1 Megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS image sensor, that same size as the sensor used in traditional DSLR cameras. It sports the BIONZ image processor with chroma noise reduction to deliver low-noise photos. The camera has ISO 200-16,000 for shooting in low-light situations.
The NEX-F3 supports up to 5.5fps continuous shooting and Full HD 1080/60i or 24p video recording. It features Enhanced Tracking Focus, iAUTO (Intelligent Auto) mode, 25-point Auto Focus, Auto Portrait Framing, Clear Image Zoom that doubles the focal length of the lens with By Pixel Super Resolution Technology, Background Defocus, Smile Shutter and Face Detection, Auto HDR, Dynamic Range Optimizer, Anti-Motion Blur mode as well as 3D Sweep Panorama mode. The camera comes with a 180° tiltable 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD screen and built-in flash. It includes Anti-Dust technology to keep the CMOS sensor clean.
11 types of Picture Effects and 6 Creative Style settings are available for users to personalize their photos. The HDMI output lets users to show photos and videos on a big screen. The F3 supports Memory Stick PRO-Duo/Pro-HD Duo, and SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. Other than E-mount lenses, the NEX camera also accpets A-mount lenses using the optional LA-EA1 or LA-EA2 adapter. Sony’s NEX-F3 is available in silver, black and white with 18-55mm kit zoom lens (model SEL1855) for $599.
