Smartphone screens are getting bigger and people are now asking for higher resolution. Korean company LG Display listened and developed a 5-inch Full HD LCD panel for smartphones. Based on AH-IPS (Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching) technology, LG’s 5-inch panel features 1920×1080 resolution that translates to a pixel density of 440ppi.
According to LG, the AH-IPS technology can express the original colors more precisely and offers a wide viewing angle, brighter light transmission and lower power consumption. The 5-inch Full HD LCD panel will be released in second half of this year.
