Altec Lansing launches its new inAir 5000 (model MA5000) wireless AirPlay speaker that allows users to stream music from computers running iTunes, iPhone, iPod touch and iPad to stream music wirelessly over the home WiFi network to any room in the house. Using the free Altec Lansing inAir Guide app from the App Store, users can setup the wireless speaker easily and quickly to enjoy music.
With an elegant design, the inAir is created to blend harmoniously with any décor, featuring fluid lines and smooth surfaces. The speaker sports dual 3-inch mid-range drivers are constructed of super strong Kevlar to deliver true vocals and mid-tones with minimal distortion, and triple amplifiers with dedicated power to the mid-range drivers, the neodymium tweeters and the thunderous 4-inch subwoofer. Its curvature “goes beyond esthetics with non-parallel walls that prevent the cross-cancellation of sound waves and produce more natural sound.” Other than wireless streaming, the MA5000 also has AUX-in for connecting other audio sources via 3.5mm jack.
The Altec Lansing inAir 5000 will be released in late-February for $499.95.
