Along with the waterproof TX200V, Sony also brings the new Cyber-shot DSC-WX70 and DSC-WX50 compact stylish digital cameras. Both models are equipped with 16.2 Megapixel Back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor and an improved BIONZ image processor to deliver enhanced low-light performance and auto focus speeds. They former comes with a 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD touchscreen while the latter gets a smaller 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD display.
The WX70 and WX50 both come with a 5x optical zoom lens with 25mm wide angle and offers 10x virtual zoom, thanks to the Clear Image Zoom technology. They feature Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode image stabilization for blue-free stills and movies; Background Defocus that defocuses background and keeps the subject crisp and clear, Intelligent Sweep Panorama HR for easy panorama shooting, and 10fps burst high-speed shooting. They also include 3D Still Image and 3D Sweep Panorama capabilities. Other features include Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode, Superior Auto mode, Motion Detection, Face Detection, Anti-blink, Soft Skin mode, Smile Shutter, Natural Flash. There is also the Sweep Multi Angle mode that takes 15 images at different angles as it sweeps across the scene. By tilting the camera during playback, the camera’s Gyro Sensor detects motion and displays the image in a 3D-like view on the camera’s LCD.
Sony’s WX70 and WX50 can record Full HD 1080/60o movies and boats the Dual-Record function for shooting 12 Megapixel still images while video recording. Both cameras have mini HDMI output. They support MS Duo, SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. The WX70 will be available for $229.99 in black, pink, silver and violet, and the WX50 for $199.99 in black and silver.
