FujiFilm introduces SL-series ultra zoom bridge digital cameras that sits between DSLRs and point-and-shoot cameras. All four models, FinePix SL300 (aka SL305), SL280, SL260 and SL240, offer the image quality and versatility of a DSLR combined with the convenience and portability of a compact camera. All four cameras sport 14 Megapixel CCD image sensor and a 3-inch LCD display with 460,000 dots.
The model numbers of these long zoom cameras indicate the zoom range of their Fujinon optical zoom lens, meaning SL300 will have 30x optical zoom, SL280 with 28x zoom, SL260 with 26x zoom and the SL240 with 24x zoom. They feature 2cm macro shooting, ISO up to 6400, P/S/A/M manual control, Tracking Auto Focus, and i-Flash Intelligent Flash. There is an additional zoom lever (side lever) on the barrel of the lens gives users the ability to zoom in and out without taking their hands from the camera.
The FinePix SL300, SL280, SL260 and SL240 all support 720p HD video recording and have HDMI output. They include TTL Hot Shoe for users to add accessories such as external flashes. FujiFilm will release the FinePix SL300 in the US in March for $299.95, and other three models will be available in other markets.
