3M announced two new Mobile Projectors at the CES 2012, the MP220 and the MP410. Both models use LED light source offering up to 20,000 hours of lamp life. The MP220 uses Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS) technology for superb image quality, while the MP410 is based on DLP technology. They both have built-in document viewer and media player for easy presentation without a laptop.
The 3M MP220 is able to project up to 65-inch still or moving images with 1024×699 resolution and 50 lumens brightness. It has 2GB internal memory and a microSD/SDHC card slot. The projector provides VGA input and a micro USB port for file transfer. There are built-in stereo speakers and audio output jack. The MP220 comes with built-in Lithium Polymer battery that offers full two-hour battery life. It measures 157 mm x 81 mm x 32 mm and weighs 408 grams.
The MP410 Mobile Projector is 3M’s first AC-powered mobile projector in a pint-sized package. It features 1280×768 WXGA resolution, 300 lumens of brightness, and is able to produce up to a 80-inch image. In addition to VGA, the MP410 offers HDMI input. It comes with 1GB onboard memory and a microSD card slot and there is USB port for file transfer. The projector measures 101 mm x 101 mm x 25mm and weighs 453 grams.
The 3M MP220 and MP410 Mobile Projectors will be available in April for $479 and $599, respectively.
