
G-Technology G-DRIVE mobile
G-Technology, part of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, introduces two new mobile hard drives – G-Drive mobile and G-Drive mobile USB, designed for Apple’s Macbook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. Both of them are based on Hitachi’s new Travelstar 5K1000, which is the first 1TB 2.5-inch hard drive with SATA III 6Gbps interface. The Travelstar 5K1000 operates at 5400RPM and has 8MB cache memory.

G-Technology G-DRIVE mobile USB
The G-DRIVE mobile provides FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 connectivity for fast data transfer while the G-DRIVE mobile USB has only USB 2.0 interface. They are bus-powered, meaning no external AC power supply is needed. The G-DRIVEs are Time Machine ready.
In addition to 1TB model, G-Technology also releases 750GB model of G-DRIVE mobile USB. Coming in January, G-DRIVE mobile USB costs $179.99 for 1TB and $149.99 for 750GB. The 1TB G-DRIVE mobile will be released in Q1 for $199.99.
