GammaTech introduces a new fully rugged convertible notebook, the Durabook R13C with Military Standard 810G certification for drop, shock, and spill protection, plus explosive atmosphere, salt, fog, and freeze/thaw standards. The notebook also comes with IP65 rating which ensures that enclosed portions of the unit are completely protected against any contact with dust and water. It is ideal for applications such as law enforcement, military, homeland security, field service, mining, and mobile workers in any type of outdoor environment. There is also a version of R13C with Military Standard 461E/F.
The Durabook R13C is powered by Intel’s low-power Core i7-620LM processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and integrated Intel GMA 5700MHD graphics. The notebook has 2.5-inch hard drive or optional SSD for storage and comes with a ultra slim DVD SuperMulti burner. It comes with a 13.3-inch 1280×800 Sunlight Readable LCD display with 1000 nits brightness and multitouch screen, a water-resistant backlit keyboard and waterproof resistive touchpad.
GammaTech’s R13C supports not only Bluetooth and WiFi but also comes with built-in WWAN 3G and GPS support. There are also SD card reader, ExpressCard slot, and RS232 serial port with RS-422/485 optional. You can find security features including Fingerprint scanner, Smart Card Reader, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2, and Kensington lock.
